As a teenager, ‘Big Dave’ (then a bit smaller) worked with “one of the original bagel kings,” Arthur Goldberg, of the Bagel Fair, then located in Paramus, New Jersey. Hausman learned almost immediately that the “secret to all baking is using quality ingredients.”
“Not only was Arthur instrumental in developing bagel recipes, but he was also a key player in designing specific pieces of equipment for the industry,” says Big Dave.
Quite passionate about his craft, Big Dave says that establishing a connection with the community is essential for any business.
“Big Dave’s Bagels is a business idea based almost exclusively on the concept of customer service. I have the honor of giving employees titles, from Store Manager to Kitchen Prep, but people would be surprised at the title I give myself: I consider myself the ‘Customer Advocate.’
In simple terms, this means I spend a good deal of my day trying to see, feel, hear, and of course, taste our homemade cuisine as a customer would.”
“We place customer care and appreciation at the top of our daily to do list - always have and always will.”
So please visit Big Dave’s Bagels & Deli and check out our store for yourself. You will leave happy, full, and will make new friends too!
